EchoNous unveils Torso NXT, the next evolution of the Kosmos ultrasound platform
Top-tier image quality and AI clinicians trust, in a probe designed for POCUS users by POCUS users

REDMOND, Wash., October 19, 2026 — EchoNous today introduced Torso NXT, the next generation of its flagship Torso-One probe for the Kosmos ultrasound platform. Designed to address the evolving demands of modern clinical imaging, Torso NXT is the first of many planned product introductions expanding the capabilities of Kosmos. The device delivers category-leading image quality, usability, and field serviceability breakthroughs alongside enhanced processing power and speed that lays a foundation for new AI applications. Combined, these advances represent the new standard for portable ultrasound.
Uncompromised Clinical Capabilities
Torso NXT retains the comprehensive feature set clinicians expect from the Torso family. Users can seamlessly image the heart, lungs, abdomen, and bladder, as well as perform essential OB/GYN exams. Advanced Auto and AI features, including Auto EF, AI FAST, Auto Doppler, and Bladder AI perform with the same exceptional reliability, fully supported by a complete CW, PW, and TDI Doppler suite. Additionally, the Torso NXT is IP67-rated for durability, backed by a robust warranty, and proudly made in the USA.
Ergonomic, Compact Design
Recognizing that scanning can be physically demanding work, Torso NXT features balanced housing and supportive grip geometry designed to promote comfort and support ergonomic use for POCUS users. Redesigned from the inside out, the probe is more compact in the hand, being smaller by volume and narrower than its predecessor. A new 360-degree grip lets clinicians hold the probe comfortably from any angle, supporting them through extended scanning and long shifts.
Optimized for Dependability and Quick Repair
To minimize disruption in fast-paced clinical environments, Torso NXT features a fully replaceable wired cable secured by a heavy-duty, screw-locking reinforced collar. This highly reliable connection eliminates the lag, added weight, and battery management issues often associated with wireless devices. Should the cable experience routine wear and tear, clinical or biomedical engineering teams can perform quick on-site replacements rather than sending the entire probe away for service.
