EchoNous Named to TIME’s List of the World’s Top HealthTech Companies of 2026
EchoNous is included in the Medical Devices and Wearables category of the ranking, produced by TIME and Statista.

REDMOND, Wash., September 16, 2026
EchoNous, maker of the Kosmos point-of-care ultrasound platform, has been named to TIME’s list of the World’s Top HealthTech Companies of 2026. TIME published the list with Statista in September 2026. EchoNous is included in the Medical Devices and Wearables category.
This is the second edition of the ranking. It includes 500 companies from more than 30 countries across six segments: AI and Data Analytics, Diagnostics, Health Information and Management, Medical Devices and Wearables, Prevention, and Telehealth and Treatment. The Medical Devices and Wearables category includes 52 companies.
According to Statista’s published methodology, companies were scored on three measures: financial performance (50 percent of the score), reputation based on media, blog, and social coverage (30 percent), and online engagement measured by website traffic over 24 months (20 percent). The evaluation period ran from July 24, 2025 to July 23, 2026.

CEO, EchoNousA year of building out Kosmos
Kosmos is a handheld ultrasound system that pairs with a phone, tablet, or cart. It images the heart, lungs, abdomen, bladder, and vessels, and includes continuous-wave (CW) Doppler, which few handheld systems offer. Its AI tools, including Auto EF, AI FAST, and Kosmos Bladder AI, are included with the system with no subscription. Most of what EchoNous shipped in the ranking period extended Kosmos into new exams and new care settings.
- Kosmos Tablet G1. In May 2026 EchoNous launched Kosmos Tablet G1, a rugged Android tablet built with Getac for the Kosmos system. It is certified to MIL-STD 810H, rated for a 6-foot drop, and sealed to IP66. It ships with the Kosmos app installed and configured, so units can be deployed without IT setup, including as dedicated bladder scanning stations on nursing units.
- Vascular exams with reporting. Kosmos now supports carotid, lower-extremity venous, and aorta and AAA exams with DICOM structured reporting on the Torso-One and Lexsa probes, included at no additional cost.
- OB/GYN tools. A new OB/GYN package adds biometry for gestational sac, crown-rump length, femur length, and dating, along with uterus and ovary tools and structured reporting.
- Vascular Auto Flow. An AI-assisted feature on the Lexsa probe for dialysis access. It measures the brachial artery, places and angle-corrects the pulsed-wave Doppler gate, and calculates flow volume and related indices. The same release added tricuspid valve calculations.
- Android parity and hospital IT. Android 7.0 brought the Kosmos Android platform to feature parity with iOS. Kosmos also added encrypted DICOM transmission (DICOM TLS) and DICOMweb support for PACS and vendor-neutral archive integration.
The clinical evidence behind Kosmos also grew. Peer-reviewed studies published in 2025 compared Kosmos AI-assisted ejection fraction with cardiac MRI and evaluated handheld Kosmos CW Doppler for aortic stenosis assessment against cart-based echocardiography. For bladder volume, Kosmos Bladder measures to within 3 mL below 100 mL and within 3 percent from 100 to 600 mL in phantom testing, and a 146-participant clinical study found a 0.988 correlation between Kosmos Bladder AI and manual sonographer measurement.
EchoNous also added to its leadership. In September 2026 Shannon Eubanks joined as Chief Operating Officer, bringing engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing experience from across the medical device industry, including ultrasound product development at SonoSite.
Kosmos is designed and built in Redmond, Washington, and carries a five-year transducer warranty. Hospitals and health systems can learn more or request a demonstration at www.echonous.com.
