EchoNous Products Privacy Policy

EchoNous, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“EchoNous”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains the limited information we collect, the sensitive data we access, and how we protect your information.

1. Disclosure of Data Access and Collection

In accordance with Google Play’s User Data and Health App policies, we disclose the following regarding the data accessed and/or collected by our Products:

  • Technical Data (Collected & Transmitted):
    • Device Identifiers: We collect the device serial number and software version (“Device Identifiers”) for purposes of license verification, to provide customer support services, and to perform post-market surveillance mandated by applicable government regulations.
    • Technical Logs: We collect app performance and device crash logs (“Technical Data”) for purposes of diagnosing device technical issues and to ensure product safety. Please note, Technical Data contains no “Protected Health Information” (“PHI”) as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Protected Health Information (Accessed Locally by the user on the Device Only):
    • Data Types Accessed: PHI including ultrasound images, patient identifiers (Name, date of birth, patient medical record numbers), and clinical measurements.
    • Usage Disclosure: Our Products access the above referenced PHI solely to provide core medical functionality to the device user during the time of device usage. Device usage includes the following:
      • Displaying real-time diagnostic imaging to the user.
      • Performing clinical calculations and measurements for the user.
      • Generating local reports for the user’s clinical review.
  • Access, Collection and Disclosure: EchoNous does not access, collect or disclose the above mentioned PHI. All PHI is processed locally on the user’s device and is not accessible, collectible ordisclosable by EchoNous or any third party. Only the device user can access, collect or disclose the aforementioned PHI.

2. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local Data: Users have full control over PHI stored on their devices and can delete it at any time via the app’s internal management tools or by uninstalling the application.
  • Technical Data: Technical data is collected by EchoNous only as long as necessary for EchoNous to provide product support services to users and to meet medical device regulatory record-keeping requirements. To request deletion of Technical Data, contact [email protected].

3. Security and Encryption

We implement commercially reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit for Technical Data, to protect against unauthorized access, collection and disclosure.
